An Everyday Record of Musical Feats and Facts
Published by Omnibus - June 2010
UK £19.99 - 400 pages – 267x204mm

This Day In Music brings together all the significant events in the history of rock and pop music in one giant diary. From Elvis to Lady GaGa, from rock and roll to rap, from 6.5 Special to X Factor, from Abba to ZZ Top and from New Year's Day to New Year's Eve, here is all the information you need to know, set out chronologically so you can look up those dates that interest you or simply pore through the year, day by day, or month by month.

Examples from the book:
- When The Beatles made their US live concert debut on 11th Feb 1964 at the Washington Coliseum, they had to stop three times to turn round Ringo's drum kit and re-position their microphones so that they faced a different part of the audience.
- Fast forward 40-odd years to 2nd May 2009, when Bob Dylan mingled unnoticed with other Beatles tourists during a minibus tour to John Lennon's childhood home. Dylan, who was on a day off on a European tour, paid £16 for the public trip to the 1940s house in Woolton, Liverpool.
- On 29th May 1967, you could have seen Pink Floyd , Cream, The Move, and The Jimi Hendrix Experience all on the same bill for £1.00 ($1.70) at the Tulip Bulb Auction Hall in Spalding, Lincolnshire, England.

The book also contains pages of music trivia such as:
What's the worst job you ever had? Mark Stoermer, bass guitarist with The Killers, once worked as an organ/blood/body part delivery boy.

When The Inspiral Carpets headlined Reading Festival in 1990, they brought on a pantomime cow, half of which was guitar roadie Noel Gallagher.

In February 2007, the hair salon that shaved Britney Spears' head set up the website buybritneyshair.com to auction her hair for more than $1m (£512,500). The winning bidder also got a blue lighter she left at the salon and the can of Red Bull she was drinking from at the time.
